Massachusetts Software & Internet Council Launches Mediation Program

Furthering its commitment to alternative dispute resolution (ADR), Hanify & King collaborated with the Massachusetts Software & Internet Council in establishing the Technology Company Mediation Program. The Program, launched on September 25, 2000, was created to assist the 775 member companies of the Council in resolving disputes economically and with minimal business disruption.

David Evans of Hanify & King conceived of the idea for the Program after hearing numerous complaints from high tech clients who wanted a low cost, expeditious alternative to litigation. The Program is staffed by mediators/attorneys with Council Affiliate Member law firms who have extensive experience in business and technology law. Matters that are particularly well suited to the Program include: breaches of contract and license agreements; intellectual property, shareholder, securities law and employment disputes; non-competition and non-solicitation agreements; and internet-related disputes.

Additional information, Program rules and forms are accessible through the Council’s web site, www.msicouncil.org.
