On April 3, 2007, Philip Graeter appeared before the Supreme Judicial Court in the appeal of Devine v. Nantucket, which concerned the validity of efforts by the Nantucket Airport to take a parcel of land by eminent domain in 1968 and 1970. Our client purchased the land after the purported takings and Mr. Graeter had successfully established at trial our client's title to the land and obtained a judgment invalidating the taking. The Town appealed. A video of Mr. Graeter's argument is found below.
On Thursday, July 19, 2007, the high court found in favor of our client Mr. William Devine.
