WomenatLaw host interactive panel discussion

On October 24, 2007, WomenatLaw and the Women's Environmental Network hosted an inspiring, interactive panel discussion on Local and Organic Food led by Kathleen Merrigan, Ph.D (Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University, on sustainable development and organic agriculture), Janet Christensen (Boston Public Market Association, on the importance of local farmers' markets), and Serena Hsu (Whole Foods, on the impact of consumer demand on foods available on the grocer's shelf). To start off, Chef Anne Obelnicki demonstrated two dishes featuring the local harvest and guests tasted a varienty of heirloom and new hybrid apples, voting for their favorites. For more information about the event, including a video of Chef Anne Obelnicki's cooking demonstration, please visit the WomenatLaw section of the Hanify & King website.
