Theodore J. Folkman, Michael T. Marcucci and Christopher M. Morrison Join Firm Leadership
Boston (January 28, 2010) – Hanify & King, Professional Corporation has named attorneys Theodore J. Folkman, Michael T. Marcucci and Christopher M. Morrison and as Shareholders. The three attorneys, all Associates with the firm, work in Hanify & King's Government Investigations and Business, Securities, and Intellectual Property Litigation practices. "Chris, Michael and Ted have proven themselves to be valuable members of the firm, consistently earning the high praise and confidence of our clients," said John D. Hanify, co-founder. Ted Folkman concentrates his practice in business and commercial litigation. He has successfully represented governmental, institutional, and business clients at trial and on appeal in complex business disputes. Prior to joining Hanify & King, he was an associate at Hill & Barlow and law clerk to Judge Ann Aldrich of the U.S. District Court in Cleveland, Ohio. Folkman has served as co-chair of the Massachusetts Practice and Procedure Committee of the Boston Bar Association and as a trustee and member of the Executive Committee of Temple Sinai in Brookline, Mass.
Folkman received his A.B. from Princeton University, magna cum laude, and his M.A. from Columbia University. He received his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation. He lives in Roslindale, Mass.
Michael Marcucci concentrates his practice at Hanify & King on business and corporate litigation with a focus on matters involving securities, executive employment agreements, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud claims as well as the representation of individuals and companies facing government investigations. Marcucci has experience conducting internal investigations into alleged fraud and unlawful activities on behalf of large publicly-traded companies as well as smaller, closely-held firms. He has experience representing both individuals and broker-dealers in arbitrations pending before FINRA. Marcucci also has extensive experience in breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims, as well as representing companies and executives in high value breach of employment agreement and severance litigation. Before joining Hanify & King, Marcucci was an associate at Ropes & Gray LLP from 2002 until 2007. In 2001-2002 he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kenneth F. Ripple of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Marcucci received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, magna cum laude and received his J.D. from Boston College Law School, summa cum laude, where he was managing editor of the Boston College Law Review. Among his community activities, Marcucci is vice president of the Friends of Harvard Baseball and a Trustee of the Montrose School in Medfield, Mass. He serves on the Boston College Law School Law Day Committee and on the leadership committee of the Boston Chapter of the BC Law Alumni Association. He lives in Medfield, Mass.
Chris Morrison serves in Hanify & King’s Business and Intellectual Property Litigation practices. Morrison has substantial experience in complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate level, representing companies of all sizes in complex business disputes. Morrison joined Hanify & King from Hill & Barlow when that firm closed, and clerked for the Honorable Robert E. Keeton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is active in the Boston Bar Association, where he has served on the Strategic Planning Committee, the Strategic Communications Committee, and as Co-Chair of the Business Litigation Committee. He is an alumnus of the BBA’s Public Interest Leadership Program, and in 2009 helped organize a series of educational and support programs for lawyers who were facing lay-offs.
Morrison received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boston College. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School, graduating summa cum laude. He remains active at the Law School, serving on the Law Day Committee and on the leadership committee for the Boston Chapter of the Alumni Association. He is a trustee at Mass Bay Community College, and was appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court to the Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee. He lives in Medfield, Mass.
