John D. Hanify, an alum of Boston College Law School and co-founder of the Boston law firm Hanify & King P.C., has been named Chair of the Boston Bar Foundation's 2005 John & Abigail Adams Benefit Ball. The Adams Ball, to be held on November 5 at the Westin Copley Place, is the premier charity event for the Greater Boston legal community. The Boston Bar Foundation awards grants to organizations that promote access to justice through the delivery of direct legal services to low-income individuals and families, and seeks to improve the administration of justice through increased efficiency, fairness and public understanding of the legal system. In addition, it funds programs that encourage and facilitate pro bono and community service opportunities for lawyers.
“The Adams Ball is a great opportunity for the legal community to work collaboratively with our colleagues in the business community in supporting a tremendously important cause," says Hanify. "Equal access to justice for all is not just a concern for members of the legal community; it is a critical need and a concern for the entire community."
"The Adams Ball is more than a fundraising event," says Hanify. "It signifies a celebration of the philanthropic work of the BBF and equal access to justice for many who would not otherwise have it."
