Boston Hanify & King, P.C., a Boston-based law firm, announced today that Christian J. Urbano has joined its Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring practice group as an associate. Urbano will represent commercial facility maintenance companies, plan administrators and creditors’ committees, as well as biotech company landlords, health insurance creditors and a major Boston bank in formal and out-of-court proceedings.
Prior to joining Hanify & King, Urbano was a bankruptcy associate at Goulston & Storrs, PC, and at Choate, Hall & Stewart since 2000. He has also served as a clerk for Justice Robert G. Flanders, Jr., of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island. Urbano has experience in all aspects of complex bankruptcy matters, including restructurings and insolvency proceedings, and has represented creditors, creditors’ committees, corporate debtors, landlords, trustees, plan administrators and various other constituencies to insolvency. In addition, Urbano was the co-author of “Reorganizations and Dissolutions” in Massachusetts Nonprofit Organizations (MCLE 2004).
Urbano received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Salve Regina University, in Newport, Rhode Island, where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his law degree from Boston College Law School, in Newton, Mass., where he also graduated summa cum laude. He is currently a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
