Boston – (July 13, 2006) - Governor Mitt Romney has appointed Christopher M. Morrison of Norwood, Mass. as the newest member of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Bay Community College. He will serve a five-year term on the board.

Morrison is an attorney at Hanify & King PC of Boston and specializes in business litigation. In addition, he serves on the Norwood School Committee and co-chairs Norwood’s town-wide School Facilities Task Force.

“Public Education has always been a priority for me, and I am excited about this chance to use both my background in educational administration and in the law to serve the Commonwealth,” said Morrison. “I look forward to helping MassBay continue to provide excellent educational opportunities in a convenient, affordable way.”

In his appointment letter, Governor Mitt Romney expressed his gratitude for Morrison’s service by stating, “Lieutenant Governor Healey and I appreciate your willingness to serve the Commonwealth in this capacity. Your experience and sound judgment will contribute substantially to the Board throughout your tenure.”

Morrison received his B.A., Masters of Education, and Juris Doctor degree from Boston College.
