Mr. Pandit practices in all areas of Intellectual Property law, although he focuses his practice on patent litigation, due diligence, opinion work, and prosecution. Mr. Pandit represents clients in patent litigations around the country, including in the Eastern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Virginia, and the District of Delaware. A significant portion of Mr. Pandit’s practice also includes conducting IP due diligence and evaluation of IP portfolios in various contexts, including for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and bankruptcies, where he has evaluated patent and trademark portfolios and assessed open-source copyright issues.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Pandit has also been extensively involved with the preparation and prosecution of foreign and domestic patent applications, and has rendered patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions. In addition, Mr. Pandit has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications.
Mr. Pandit has substantial experience with: wireless telecommunications devices, systems and services; landline telecommunications devices, systems and services; radar and antenna technology, modulation technology; connection devices; computer technology, including software, hardware, client server networks, microprocessors, memory, digital signal processors, encryption, data compression, object oriented programming, circuit design and semiconductor technology; electronic commerce, including electronic selling, buying, advertising, billing, auctioning, reservation and other online businesses; filtering technologies for the national do-not-call list; board games; tricycles; and golf-related technologies, including electronic monitoring devices and golf club and ball manufacturing.
Prior to joining Murphy & King, Mr. Pandit worked at Bingham McCutchen LLP, Swidler Berlin LLP, and at the National Institutes of Health in the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Neurophysiology, where he researched and wrote on signaling modalities between neurons and glial cells in the nervous system. In 2002 Sid co-authored the article, "Astrocytes in Adult Rat Brain Express Type 2 Inositol 1,4,5-Trisphosphorate Receptors."
